That event followed by my brother’s joining W. Parker Smith Chapter, Order of DeMolay, have affected most of my life. I have been blessed because these two events have enabled me to create life long friendships, with people whom I would probably have never known otherwise. But just as important as the friendships has been the opportunity to serve, and give back something to society.

     “The Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea are made of the same water. It flows down , clear and cold, from Hermon and the roots of the cedars of Lebanon. The Sea of Galilee makes beauty of it for the Sea of Galilee has an outlet. It gets to give. It gathers in it’s riches that it may pour them out again to fertilize the Jordan plain. But the Dead Sea , with the same water, makes horror, for the Dead Sea has no outlet. It gets to keep. That is the radical difference between selfish and unselfish men. We all want life’s enriching blessings, and we ought to, they are divine benedictions, but some men get to give, and they are like Galilee , while some men get to keep and they are like the brackish water that covers Sodom and Gomorrah .”

My first act as Potentate is to declare 2007 “The Year of the Noble”. Pyramid Temple has many dedicated nobles who I want to see properly recognized. This will happen at our reception on June 2, 2007 “The Pyramid Party”. This event will honor the nobles who do all the work to get things done.

I have told many people that one of the things I learned from my Dad is that you can have titles and jewels of honor but without the foot soldier you will not get anything accomplished.

My second act is to declare a song made famous by the Andrews Sisters, Accentuate the Positive, the theme song for the year. We must accentuate all the positive we do at Pyramid Temple for the children and the hospitals. We are here at Pyramid to have fun, I will do all I can to accomplish that result, we will work  and work hard, but that will only make the fun better. We need your support in our endeavors so that we can prosper.

I am honored that you have chosen me to serve as Potentate, and I will do in my power to help the NOBLES move our Temple and the “World’s Greatest Philanthropy” forward to bigger and greater heights.
